A CHILD IN DISTRESS (BEFORE)
Narayan’s early life was marked by extreme hardship. When outreach teams first encountered him, he was living in isolation, restrained by his family due to severe behavioral challenges and a medical condition (epilepsy). His family, overwhelmed and lacking access to proper support systems, struggled to care for him. As a result, Narayan lived in fear, disconnected from the world around him.
Narayan’s story shows that with the right support, even the most difficult circumstances can be transformed into a life of dignity and purpose.
DISCOVERING POTENTIAL THROUGH EDUCATION
During his early days in care, Narayan showed a small but significant sign of curiosity—he would pick up a newspaper and observe it closely, despite not being able to read. Recognizing this spark, educators began working with him using specialized learning methods. Step by step, he progressed:
- Learned the Hindi alphabet
- Started forming words and sentences
- Gradually developed basic literacy
This marked a turning point in his life.
TOWARDS INDEPENDENCE (AFTER)
After completing his education, Narayan was supported through vocational training programs, where he quickly adapted and learned practical skills.
With placement support, he secured employment and today:
- Earns his own livelihood
- Lives with dignity and confidence
- Supports himself independently
